Newham IPS Employment Service

Finding and retaining paid work can play a significant part in helping your mental health recovery.

However, it can be daunting to start the process of finding employment, especially when you have been out of work for a while or never had the opportunity to build a career in the first place. 

Our Employment Specialists can make a difference. The one to one support we provide is unlike any other jobseekers programme. We are based within the Community Mental Health Team offices and work in partnership with clinical staff to support you with all your employment needs.

Our offer

In practice, this means you can expect a FREE and confidential individual service designed around what you want and need. We assist with your CV and job application process as well as confidence building and skills development. We will contact employers and negotiate on your behalf and with your permission. We help you assess the impact of job income on your benefits. We also prepare you in starting your new job and offer ongoing support for as long as you need us. 

To access our service

All we require is that you want to work and are ready to engage with employers within 4 weeks of your first appointment with us.

You will also need to be a service user of The Newham Community Recovery Teams (North or South), including outpatients’ clinics, The Newham Assessment and Brief Treatment Team or The Newham Early Intervention Service.
