A gift in your will

A will is a good way to plan for the needs of your family and loved ones. By leaving a gift to Mind in Tower Hamlet and Newham you can also help make sure that in the future no one has to face a mental health problem alone.

Mind in Tower Hamlet and Newham wants to continue our great work in supporting people with mental health issues, now and in the future.  A legacy gift, large or small can make a real difference and have a positive impact on generations to come.

Types of gift that you can leave;

Residuary Gift

Otherwise known as a share of your estate. This is when you leave a portion of what you own to us, after your family and friends have received what you want to give them.

Pecuniary Gift (Cash Sum)

A pecuniary gift can be a cash gift of any amount.

Specific Gift

A specific gift can be a gift of any object, for example an artwork or antique. Retaining documents showing provenance of the item, may increase its value.

How do I leave a gift in my will?

If you don’t have a Will… Making one is simple and your solicitor can help. We can help by providing some suggested wording to reflect your wish.

If you already have a Will… A change of circumstances could make your Will invalid so make sure it still reflects your wishes. If you need to make a change, it is a simple process to make an amendment, this may be a good time to include a gift to Suffolk Mind.  It may be possible to use a codicil to make your amendments, a solicitor can advise on the best course of action.

We cannot recommend a Solicitor but can provide details of local Solicitors that may offer a discounted service if you are leaving a gift to support our charity work

We realise that leaving a legacy gift is an important decision but it doesn’t have to be complicated.
