Job Title: Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA)
Post is funded until 31 March 2020
Salary: NJC Scp 23-27 (currently £25,098 - £28,062 p.a inclusive of Inner London Weighting) starting salary will be based on Scp 23 which is £25,098 p.a.)
Location: Tower Hamlets
Hours: 35 hours per week

Mind in Tower Hamlets is a charity based in Bow, East London, delivering a range of Recovery and Wellbeing services for people with mental health needs who live in the boroughs of Tower Hamlets and Newham. As well as Advocacy our services include Counselling, access to welfare advice, short and long term support, helping people back into employment, education or volunteering as well as group support.
Mind in Tower Hamlets is now seeking to recruit a qualified IMHA Advocate to join our Advocacy team based in Tower Hamlets.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable and substantial experience of providing advocacy either in an in-patient or community setting together with demonstrable experience of working within the field of mental health.
You will have the skills and ability to prepare and deliver written and verbal reports of the highest standard to both external and internal agencies. With excellent organisational skills you will be able to demonstrate that you have the ability to prioritise and manage your own workload, keeping excellent records and writing clear and concise case notes
You will need to be an effective communicator with other professionals, colleagues and service users including those who may be experiencing distress.
You will be able to work as part of a team, on your own initiative as well as under pressure.
You must have excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office as the post is administratively self-servicing.
