Counselling
The Counselling Service provides one-to-one counselling to people living in Tower Hamlets and Newham.
Referrals can be made via your GP or you can self refer by phoning 020 7510 1081/4247 for Tower Hamlets and 020 548 9037 for Newham.
Our counselling service consists of counsellors, psychotherapists and counselling psychologists. Our team is representative of the local community and our counsellors speak a variety of languages.
The counselling service adheres to the British Association of Counselling and Pyschotherapy Code of Ethics and Good Practice.
Services provided
- Individual Counselling (8-12 sessions)
- Other Therapeutic Activities
- Group Art therapy on Fridays between 1 and 4pm
- Music Therapy (individual and group sessions) This is available on Thursdays.
What will it cost?
In Tower Hamlets there is a fee for the counselling which is based on a sliding scale and goes towards the running of the counselling service. We ask that people pay:
- people on receipt of benefits (please provide proof): £5
- people working part-time: £10
- people working full time: £15
Within Newham the service is linked to the IAPT servicewithin the Trust and so there are no charges.
