IPS Employment Specialists, Newham x 2

Full time – 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £25,098 (Inclusive of Inner London Weighting)

Mind in Tower Hamlets and Newham is a highly regarded local charity, working to support people’s mental health and wellbeing.


Our Newham Integrated Individual Placement Service (IPS) offers an evidenced based approach to supporting secondary mental health clients in to paid work. We are seeking two Employment Specialists to join our team. You will be working alongside clinical colleagues from the East London NHS Foundation Trust.

We are looking for candidates who are confident working with vulnerable individuals requiring intensive 1-2-1 support to help identify and realise their career aspirations. You will also need to be able to effectively approach employers to build relationships, negotiate suitable vacancies and continue to advocate on behalf of clients once they are in work. This may suit someone from a recruitment/job brokering background that is keen to assist

Many of our service users have complex needs including alcohol and substance misuse and we also work within young adults (18-25). We therefore also welcome applicants with experience of supporting and representing clients with a variety of needs.

Successful applicants will receive training in the IPS approach. You will have a positive and can do attitude, demonstrate perseverance and adaptability as well as excellent networking and interpersonal skills.
